Make Resilience Matter (MRM) takes the issue of security and privacy seriously. The following outlines the type of personal information collected by MRM, and how we use and protect it. We do this in accordance with Canada’s privacy legislation, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), 2004.

Personally Identifiable Information

Make Resilience Matter collects personally identifiable information from you only with your knowledge and consent. We do not collect any personally identifiable information from Web site visitors and/or store it in an online environment, other than the information you submit to sign up for our email alerts. Non-Personally Identifiable Information

Make Resilience Matter collects non-personally identifiable information from you in order for us to better understand how our Web site is used. Log files are collected and primarily used by the server administrator for error notification, server administration, and to monitor Web site performance. At times, portions of the log files may be viewed by others for the purpose of server administration, security or when required by law.

Make Resilience Matter collects, tracks and analyzes statistics using Google Analytics. Google utilizes the data collected to track and examine the use of the MRM Web site, to prepare reports on its activities, and share them with other Google services. Google may use the data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. Mailing List

Make Resilience Matter strongly supports Canadian Anti-Spam legislation (CASL). We never exchange, lend or sell our email mailing list to anyone. Information submitted to us is only available to employees, students and volunteers managing this information for purposes of sending you emails and to contracted service providers for purposes of providing services relating to our communications with you.

We use our email alerts for communicating with individuals from whom we have received consent. If you sign up for our email alerts all we need from you is your email address; providing your first and last name if optional. Each email alert will display the email address of the recipient with simple instructions on how to unsubscribe (opt-out) from the list.

Statistics are gathered from the emails in order to track the effectiveness of the mailings. Make Resilience Matter will never share, sell, or rent this information to anyone. This information is only used for our own internal purposes.

Changes to Privacy Policy

Make Resilience Matter may deem it necessary or appropriate from time to time to modify this privacy policy to reflect changes in the way we collect or use information or changes in privacy-related laws, regulations, or industry standards. Accordingly, Make Resilience Matter reserves the right to change this privacy statement at any time by posting the revised policy on this Site. Information will be handled according to the privacy statement in effect at the time the information is used.
